Hafez(1315-1390) is the most popular of Persian poets. If a book of poetry is to be found in a Persian home, it is likely to be the Divān (collected poems) of Hafez. Hafez was born in Shiraz Iran and in early age he memorized the Quran and was given the title of Hafez, which he later utilized as his pen name. He saw Shakh-e Nabat, a woman of great beauty, to whom some of his poems are addressed. Walters(628 - 634 & 638) illuminated of poems (divan) shown. Works from Harvard, Si Museums added.
