Cynthia Ann Parker, or Naduah (meaning "someone found" or "Keeps Warm With Us"),(c.1824–1870) was captured & kidnapped at the age of 9 by a Comanche war band, who massacred her family’s settlement. She was adopted by the Comanche & lived with them for 24 years, completely forgetting her European ways. She married a Comanche chieftain, Peta Nocona, & had 3 children with him, including the last free Comanche chief Quanah Parker. Pictured here with daughter, Topsannah (Prairie Flower), in 1861.
