Phrygians 750 - 600 BCE, came from the Danube area, migrated into Thrace and then settled around Troy and soon after spread over western Anatolia. Following the destruction of the Hittite Empire by the Aegean migrations, many small kingdoms arose. 2 powerful entities emerged, the Phrygian Kingdom comprised a confederation of peoples, which ruled from the central Anatolian plateau, and the Urartian Kingdom. Both opposed the Assyrians. The Phrygians were absorbed by the Lydians.
