The Cave of the Swimmers, Egypt. Here's how the photographer Sam Bowker describes the paintings: "The scale of these figures was generally about that of a human hand. The whole experience of being in front of them tells you about the proportions of the artist – they would have sat on the same rock we sat on, they would have been about so tall, they chose this surface instead of that one because it was easier to reach, etc... As I said, a handspan was roughly the average size." Ancient Aliens, Ancient Egypt, Art History, Art Pariétal, Prehistoric Age, Cave Drawings, Art Ancien, Pictograph
