The word 'friend' is a misnomer, since just about all would run a mile if called upon to stay in a time of need. Now, a soul mate is in a different category altogether; the American Indians understood this principle well enough through blood brothers' initiation, & then either would willingly give his life for the other; would a so-called friend do that? No.
