Caucasus. 1700s, naming the realms of the divine, the seven spheres of heaven and the seven spheres of hell, heaven with an image of the Toba tree, the Pen and the Hidden Tablet,with the Qaf mountain marking the outer limits of earth, the levels of hell surmounted by the bridge (sirat) are unnamed but flanked by named images of Qazan al-Qitran (the cauldron with boiling tar) and the dreadful tree Zaqqum.

Piri Reis was a 16th century Ottoman Admiral famous for his maps and charts collected in his Kitab-ı Bahriye (Book of Navigation), a book which contains detailed information on navigation as well as extremely accurate charts describing the important ports and cities of the Mediterranean Sea.

Jahangir on a low platform beneath a red sandstone canopy. Behind him, a young man holds a flywhisk, one of the emblems of royalty. All characters are identified by minute Persian inscriptions. On the terrace, on the left, is the emperor's foster-brother, Qutb al-Din Khan Koka. On the right are Raja Sangram, zamindar of Kharagpur, whose son is the boy holding the fly whisk behind the emperor. Dalpat Ujjainiya, wearing the four-pointed jama of Akbar's reign.
