4hr · 8 servings INGREDIENTS • 2 lbs lean ground beef • 16oz can chickpeas, rinsed and drained • 16oz can fava beans beans, rinsed and drained • 4 cloves minced garlic • 1 small red bell pepper • 1 medium yellow onion • 2 1/2 cups beef broth • 1 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes • 1 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt • 3/4 teaspoon black pepper • 3 tsp dried cumin • 1 tbsp paprika • 2 tsp ground coriander • 2 tbsp chili powder • 1 tsp ground cardamom • 1 tsp ground allspice • 2 bay leafs • Cook ground beef in a pan until no longer pink, and drain the fat. Reduce the heat to medium, and continue to cook for an additional 1-2 minutes. • Add the cooked beef to the slow cooker along with the rest of the ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8.
