Charles Laughton in Witness for the Prosecution" UA. Anthony Quinn in "Wild is the Wind" Paramount. Note - Mr Guinness did not attend the ceremony due to a filming commitment in England and the award was accepted on his behalf by actress and former co-star, Jean Simmons. The Oscar was presented to him at a dinner in London a month later.
