Amerigo Vespucci' s routes. Both Columbus & Americus had never been to Florida nor the Golf of Mexico yet both places are shown on Waldseemuler's map! Amerigo helped Christopher Columbus on his first journeys to America, both didn't want to sail straight West to Maine but aimed repeatedly to Central Caribbean for passage to Pacifics. Because both of them avoided N.America-it proves they had world map in hand. Amerigo aimed South 2 more times, wanted to round S.America but turned back. ~E.L.
