In frequented place in the classroom, have a big calendar with important classroom dates. Then, you could have smaller calendars for each class that list both unit days and assignments without handouts. Then, students check the calendar to see what unit day they missed, and beneath the calendar, they can find extra handouts in labeled folders in a crate. Nice!
