Murad V, 33rd Sultan of the Ottoman Empire (1840–1904) He was born at Constantinople, in Topkapı Palace. His father was Abdülmecid I and became the Sultan when his uncle Abdülaziz was deposed. He reigned just for 93 days before being deposed on the grounds that he was supposedly mentally ill. He died at Çırağan Palace, Ortaköy, Constantinople, and was buried in Constantinople on 30 August 1904. His brother, Abdülhamid II, ascended to the throne on 31 August 1876.

Its a long dagger at 35 centimeters, given as a gift from the Shah Nadir to the Sultan Mahmud I of Turkey. Another large emerald covers a watch hidden in the base. The emeralds are surrounded by diamonds and gold.
