Bauhaus-style poster by Thomas Pena. The imagery is a simplified version of the Dessau branch of the Bauhaus School. The word "bauhaus" shows the 5 original weights of the typeface. A Bauhaus "D","G", and "Q" were used to create this logo.
In this poster the color scheme and shapes are representative of Bauhaus and create an architectural design within it. The lines and movement help one to see the underlying image and creates a good visual hierarchy.
Poster for the Bauhaus Design Exposition, Print work was a large part of the Bauhaus. I would frame posters and hang them throughout the apartment. I like the typography and use of negative space in this design.
