Best Green Bean & Mushroom Side Dish! Cut beans to 2inches-snap off ends. Boil beans 3 min, drain and blanch in bowl of cold water to stop the cooking. In pan Sauté 1/2 onion, sliced mushrooms, bacon bits for 5 min. Add 3 cloves minced garlic-cook 1 more min. Add 1t parsley, 1/8 t nutmeg, 1/8 t cracked black pepper, salt to taste. Add drained beans from cold water bowl and saute 2-4 min to melt flavors together. Serve immediately. Hearty enough to serve with just meat. So good!!!
