Dassault Mirage G French development program for a variable-sweep wing multi-role aircraft for French Air Force and French Navy use. First flown in 1967, three prototypes were built. Technology from this project influenced a number of the early designs for the competition (VFX) that led to the F-14 Tomcat. The project was cancelled by the French government in 1968, when the requirements were changed to a dedicated interceptor. Flight testing continued until 1971.
