An ‘uckur’ (woman’s waistband/sash) with embroidered ends. From the Bursa region, early 20th c. The embroidery is ‘two-sided’ (identical on both sides of the fabric) and is executed in both silk on linen and ‘tel kırma’ (motives obtained by sticking narrow metallic strips through the fabric and folding them). The motif used is an ‘ibrik’ (water pitcher). (Inv.nr. brdw039 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium).
