Basically, every Martha Grimes book is worth reading...engaging characters, historical references, humor, heartache...some of the most interesting protagonists in fiction, including Richard Jury and Melrose Plant

A good and entertaining read. Did i learn all about economics in it, of course not.

I have read all of these, too. Written by Linda Fairstein, a former D.A. for New York, these books can be a little intense. However, it's the characters which keep me coming back.

Caleb's Crossing by Geraldine Brooks. Pulitzer Prize winner and author conveys cross cultural conflict in the 1660's through a fictional account based loosely on the 1st Wampanoag Native to graduate from Harvard (1965).
