circa 1507 Niklaus Manuel Deutsch - Eidgenosse unter einem Bogen mit Kampfszene
circa 1507 Niklaus Manuel (1484–1530) Eidgenosse under an arch with the storming of the fortress Castellazzo. The confederate bears the characteristics of a servant (halberd) and a Gentleman (shoulder sheath). Allusion to the numerous federal participants in the train of the French king Louis XII. against Genoa 1507 were knighted after the conquest. The tip of the halberd points to a fallen Hellebardier, the sword points to the graveyard (memento mori).
