The embroidered ends of two 'uçkur' (waistband) from the Bolu province. First half of 20th century. Stylized vegetable/floral motifs in ‘two-sided embroidery’ (front and rear are identical) and small squares in ‘tel kırma’-technique (geometrical motives obtained by sticking narrow metallic strips through the fabric and folding them. The motifs are identical on both sides of the fabric). Source: ‘Antika Osmanlı Tekstil, Istanbul’.
