Freedom From Want, Norman Rockwell (1943). Inspired by President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 Four Freedoms speech, which also became the basis for the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, this painting was intended to promote patriotism during a time of war. It presents an idealized image of family and is one of the most widely recognized (and parodied) paintings in the US.
