City in the sky" is a concept about an imaginary tranquil oasis above the mega developed and polluted city where one can escape from the everyday noise, stress and dirt. The concept is inspired by the Lotus flower which is known for its ability to emerge above the murky waters pure and clean. A deeper understanding of this symbol fits well with the haiku poem by the Japanese author Kobayashi Issa
This is borderline fugly and the only thing that makes me forgive it is that it's circa 1940 Cartier. The forties was a weird period. Funky but weird. I'm probably going to end up cross posting it to Cartier but damn! They're not even trying. Maybe?
