TAUREG WOMAN The Tuareg (also spelled Twareg or Touareg; endonym Imuhagh) are a Berber people with a traditionally nomadic pastoralist lifestyle. They are the principal inhabitants of the Saharan interior of North Africa.

Tuareg Mali

For the Tuareg, the colour blue really does run skin deep. Due to the lack of water in the Sahara, they use powdered indigo to dye their robes. The dye however, has a tendency to bleed onto the skin of its wearer when subjected to desert temperatures.
