A large traditional ‘yemeni’ or ‘yazma’ (woman’s head scarf) from the district of Mengen (province of Bolu).  Also called ‘örtme’ or ‘pô’.  Rural, mid-20th century.  ‘Two-sided’ embroidery (identical on both sides of the fabric) in ‘telkırma technique’ (motives obtained by sticking narrow metallic strips through the fabric and folding them.).   (Inv.nr. yaz003 - Kavak Costume Collection-Antwerpen/Belgium).
