Thankfully, we discovered the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, and it turned out to be everything we needed: a 15-minute drive from our home, a flat trail punctuated by bridges overlooking icy lakes, lots of wildlife to ooh and ahh over, and pastoral grasslands to admire.
