EMERALD, RUBY AND DIAMOND BRACELET, LATE 19TH CENTURY. The central plaque set with an oval cabochon emerald within a surround of circular-cut diamonds, to links collet-set with cabochon emeralds alternating with circular-cut rubies and diamonds, engraved to the reverse with Chinese characters for 'Health', 'Longevity', 'Peace' and 'Prosperity', length approximately 175mm.
The Spanish Inquisition necklace consists of two strands of antique-cut diamonds and emeralds, to which a lower pendant and upper chain containing modern, brilliant-cut diamonds were added. The emeralds are Colombian and the diamonds are Indian. The large, central, barrel-shaped emerald weighs approximately 45 carats, one of the world's finest.

EMERALD VESSEL This is the largest cut emerald in the world. It comes from Columbia where the Spaniards discovered it in the middle of the 16th century. The stone consists of two crystals grown together, and weighs 2680 carats. Kunsthistorisches Museum. Vienna

Designed as a series of geometric links of stylised buckle design, interspersed with scalloped connecting links, set throughout with circular-, single-cut and baguette diamonds, highlighted with calibré-cut emeralds, length approximately 185mm, partially numbered, case by Asprey & Co Ltd, New Bond Street, London.
