Whether they were once hospitals of office buildings, theme parks or restaurants, a myriad of buildings have been abandoned and left to turn into beautiful ruin across the world. While many of them are awe inspiring, there are just as many that give viewers the heebie jeebies.

Libraries serve as refuge for lovers of reading and learning. Many of them are steeped in history and historical standards of classic and modern architecture. These libraries are not only famous for its architecture or their age but also by historical books, archives and manuscript which help us to understand day today the why of things. We are a walk through some of the world's most spectacular libraries.

Our fascination with architecture runs deep. We pay attention to the structures around us because of the way it shapes our experiences and tells stories about the culture. To really understand our environment, we can explore cities by strolling down the main streets and learning about history by admiring famous landmarks. For some of us, however, the view from the bottom and from a safe distance is simply not enough.
