Each bin has some compost in it that’s either completely done, in process, or the new pile. We turn it to keep it warm but we’ve also done cold composting, which is a slower process (and it won’t kill weed seeds) but both make great compost for us! Leaves or dried grass clippings make great browns, and we use food scraps and fresh weeds (that haven’t yet gone to seed and aren’t invasive) as greens.
