I enjoyed working with cardboard to create the spheres. It is fun for me to explore new ways to use a material. It took some time to learn how to work with it, but in the end I believe that we became friends. Sphere #1 Now turning a flat material into a spherical structure is a definite challenge. I started out by viewing the sphere as if it had planes. I turned those planes into hexagonal shapes, then transferred them into cardboard. I chose hexagons because it gave me a circular surface…
This tutorial will show you how to build a small geodesic dome out of cardboard. I originally made mine for my cat, but you can use the principles in this tutorial to scale this up or down to fit your needs. This took about 5 hours.
