Hotelier Ian Schrager has joined forces with British architectural designer John Pawson to create the West Hollywood Edition hotel in Los Angeles.

Location has played a significant role in the Edition Hotels’ winning formula thus far, but it takes pride of place in the group’s New York iteration, which opens in Manhattan’s NoMad district this month. Housed inside the iconic Met Life Clock Tower, a landmark skyscraper built by Napoleon LeBrun Sons in 1909, the storied structure was once the tallest in the city, until the Woolworth Building popped up.
