Freezing the Action

If you want to freeze action you are better off using flash than shutter speed for two reasons : 1.) Flash can do faster speeds . Most cameras these days can go to about 1/4000th sec , some to 1/8000th . Flash , with a Nikon SB800 , at 1/128th power fires as fast as 1/41600th sec . 2.) Flash can fire as fast as you need it to , shutters have a slight delay before they fire .
