(5.1.35) Lady Macbeth subconciously tries to wash away the guilt of the chain of murders she set in motion, which she once believed to be able to be cleaned away by simply washing away the evidence (in act 2). Yet as the guilt builds, she's been feeling the pressure of guilt bear down on her ever more.
