Bookbinding - A very basic photo guide on how to do a leather onlay. This is no substitution for an actual teacher. There are important things left out here, but these are the basic steps.

I found a nice way to treat the corners of a leather binding was to take a small nick out of the leather where it meets the corner, using a wood engravers tool, you can see the small nick in the top right of the picture above. This prevents a point from forming at the corner.
