Does anyone know if the IKEA MYDAL bunk bed can be hacked to be flipped and thus be used in the same way as the KURA reversible bed?

Using the IKEA KURA reversible bed as the base, I made a toddler sized bunk bed with slide and den. It cost me approximately £210 including screws. And the whole project took about 24 hours, spread over 3 days. The result - my son loves it!
