La Casa Roja, a house on the outskirts of Chennai, is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly structure set amid an old fruit orchard. Built entirely from tin and wood along with cement just for the foundation, these homes are tougher than they look. They protect their owners from the strongest of storms, floods and natural calamities. Only in the worst of times do they give in.

The verandah and the lamp space at either side of the door and the view of central courtyard. Love this traditional ancient Indian architecture for home.
