Mount Hood National Forest, Oregon and 50+ Secret Places in America That Most Tourists Don't Know About

Mount Hood National Forest is in Oregon, east of Portland and south of the Columbia River Gorge. Mount Hood, a dormant volcano capped by glaciers, is home to ski trails, alpine lakes and the 1930s Timberline Lodge. The Timberline Trail encircles the peak, passing waterfalls, glacial creeks and meadows. Barlow Road, once part of the Oregon Trail, goes around the southern slope near the village of Government Camp.

Three Fingered Jack and a lupine filled Canyon Creek Meadow in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness, near Bend, Oregon.  This is one of my favorite hikes in the Central Oregon area.  Beautiful wildflowers, streams, a small alpine lake and the amazing Three Fingered Jack as a back drop.  Pretty Stunning
