After building two previous gardens with DG (decomposed granite) pathways, I’ve decided that I do love a well made DG path, but it gets messy with spilled soil, does get some weeds, and can get muddy, especially if it’s not installed properly with thick base layer of crushed rock for drainage.   I’ve also been displeased with pea gravel when it’s laid too deep, which makes it soft and uncomfortable for walking and pushing full wheelbarrows through.
