In the center of the monument at the Parc de la Ciutadella is a portrayal of the birth of Venus. Venus is the Goddess of love, beauty, desire, sex, fertility, prosperity and victory. Here, she is being born as she emerges from the conch shell and everything around her, including the streaming water, seems to be lively (fertile) and prosperous. Beneath her lays four seahorses which create a sort of imaginary carriage, similar the chariot the Aurora has.
