I want to do this and have veterans live in them and have raised garden beds for growing vegetables and berry bushes and papaya, banana, pear, citrus and apple trees. A mall wood working shed and a lap pool. They deserve so much more.

Pocket neighborhoods are a growing trend across the United States and Canada. They create a friendly supportive community for people in many different stages of their life. Ross Chapin, an architect in Washington first coined the term pocket neighborhoods. Several of those are profiled here.

In the near northwest neighborhood of South Bend, twin tiny homes are standing out. “Well, we are in one of the often overlooked neighborhoods,” says Mike Keen. Keen is the manager of Hometown Development, LLC. His group is working to revitalize the neighborhood. “We went from building one house to owning three renovated structures, 20 lots and the big thing we are doing is renovating the bakery building across the street,” says Keen.
