Mary 'Natalie' Wick was born in Ohio 1880, daughter of iron magnate George Dennick Wick & Mary Caroline. Natalie, along with her father, step-mother Mary & her cousin Caroline Bonnell visited Europe in 1912. The family boarded Titanic at Southampton as 1st class passengers, where another in-law, Elizabeth Bonnell, joined them The Wick and Bonnell ladies survived but  George Wick died in the sinking & his body, if recovered, was never identified.

The wooden lifeboat, the last to be cast off from the doomed passenger ship, was spotted in the Atlantic some 200 miles from the wreck site by crew on board the passing RMS Oceanic on May 13, 1912.

A large ventilation shaft designed to feed fresh air into the furnaces of the No. 5 boiler room. Originally, a cowl head (chimney covering) was placed over the shaft to prevent rain from seeping in, but the cover has since corroded and vanished. Vent shafts are usually empty, but this vent shaft held access ladders and platforms to permit inspection and maintenance of the shaft, steam pipes and electrical cables. © 2010 RMS Titanic, Inc.
