The staff and students of HBE celebrated Read Across America with a Vocabulary Parade on March 2, 2022. Our kindergarten - second-grade students, along with many teachers, chose an impressive word and created a costume that demonstrated it. They also made a sign with their word and its definition so that the parade watchers could increase their own vocabularies. What a fun way to celebrate reading!

In third grade at A.'s school, they held the 3rd annual Vocabulary Parade. This is a project that is completely done at home. A. had to select a word from the curriculum that has been covered this year and create an outfit. The idea comes from the book Miss Alaineus, where 5th grade students host their own vocabulary parade. The end of the school year snuck up on us all, but we had time to celebrate vocabulary with Anderson Elementary School's 2nd Annual Vocabulary Parade.
