a close up of a sewing machine on a table with colorful fabric and buttons around it

Big hugs to all my quilting friends. The weekend didn't produce as much as I had planned but at least there was some progress on the Sugar and Spice quilt Blocks. Machine stitching the dresden's and yo-yo's made this so much easier. It was a little tricky on the yo-yo's but with a slow and steady pace they came together quicker than I thought they would. a quilt with many different colored flowers on it

I was very fortunate to have been invited to attend the Opening Ceremony. I asked my friend Julie of My Quilt Diary to join me. On the left are four men representing Tokyo Dome, NHK (the Japanese state run broadcasting company that is the organiser of the show), Yomiuri…

My well intentioned yoyo along grew stale with all the happenings of the last quarter of 2011, but thanks to a few nudging emails that have come in over the last few weeks, I decided to pick up the camera, turn on my machine, and get the next step of the yoyo along posted. So thank you to those of you who have been patiently waiting. I hope it will have been worth the wait for you once you start seeing your quilt come together. For those of you who are newer to…

several different types of scrunffles laid out on a sheet

I rooted through my fabrics and used almost all leftovers from other projects. The hardest decision was what color to make the background. In the end, I picked a manilla, kind of plain color. This helps it to look antique, and lets the fabrics stand out. I really like the way the back has the graphic design of the circles, with…
