The library of Celsus is an ancient Roman building in Ephesus, Anatolia, now part of Selçuk, Turkey. It was built in honour of the Roman Senator Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus by Celsus' son, Gaius Julius Aquila.

The excavations at Sagalassos are now among the largest archaeological projects in the Mediterranean. Sagalassos was a prosperous city for over 1000 years, from early Hellenistic times until it was struck by a devastating earthquake in the 7th century AD when the city was abandoned.
