Vishwaraj Sinh Jadeja on Instagram: "Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas 14 : प्रयागे माधवेश्वरी Prayāge Madhaveshvarî Devi Madhaveshvari (Lalita) of Prayag 14th peetha is the place where Devi Sati's fingers fell. Devi is Known here as Lalita, Madhaveshvari and Alopi. This shaktipeeth is located at the holy city of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. This temple is peculiar because there is no idol, icon or yantra of any deity in this temple, instead, there is a wooden carriage or 'jhula' which is worshipped as seat of Goddess. Because there is no idol in the temple, therefore it’s named, Alopi (disappeared). According to the beliefs, here the fingers of the right hand of Mother Sati disappeared after falling in a Kund. There is a platform in the middle of the temple courtyard where a Kund is made. Above it is a special hammock or cradle, which is kept covered with red cloth. Iconography : Although this is a special temple with no Idol, the Shakti of Prayag peeth is Lalita Devi. She is also known as Tripura Sundari, Rajarajeshwari, Shodashi, Kamakshi, and Lalita. She is worshipped as a principal aspect of supreme goddess. Devi lalita holds noose, goad, a bow made of sweet cane and 5 Arrows made of flowers. अरुणां करुणा तरङ्गिताक्षीं धृत पाशाङ्कुश पुष्प बाणचापाम् । अणिमादिभि रावृतां मयूखै- रहमित्येव विभावये भवानीम् ॥ I meditate on the great Empress Lalita; She has reddish tone, her eyes are full of compassion, and she holds a noose, a goad, a bow and flowery arrows in her hands. She is surrounded by powers such as Animā and, She is the “Self” within me. #lalita #devi #prayag #uttarpradesh #maa #maadurga #navratri #pujo #durgapuja #alopidevimandir #india #art #culture #artistsoninstagram #instaart #digiitalart #srichakra"
