1950s Women's Fashion & Hairstyles
Many hairstyles in the 1950s were all about curls. To get the look, women created finger waves or curls by hand and bobby pinned them into place. They used a generous amount of hairspray to ensure the curls held. Once the pins were removed, the hair was either gently brushed out to create waves or styled by hand to maintain the curls. Women who had long hair and bangs typically opted for subtle waves with barrel-curled bangs.
OOH LA LA!
INSTRUCTIONS: 1) Find your side part. Either side will do. 2, 3, 4 & 5) You’re going to curl ALL of your hair inward toward your face (as Lauren does above) and clip the curls in place with large setting clips. Mist all over with a light-medium holding hairspray. Let them cool while you put on your makeup. Multi-Tasking!! 15 minutes should do the trick. :)
