10 Dusting Tips Is it hard to remember all the spots that need dusting? I generally go room by room, both using my handheld vacuum, a vacuum and a dusting cloth. Return air vents: apply a layer of wax to them to help repel dust. Shower walls: fill a dish wand with half vinegar and half Dawn dish soap. Scrub the walls with the wand then rinse.
