Benzaiten- Shinto Goddess. Also known as Benten, she is the Japanese Buddhist and Shinto goddess of everything that flows: water, words, speech, eloquence, music and by extension, knowledge. Sometimes she is depicted with two arms, sometimes with eight. She always carries objects symbolic of her meaning—, the lute for music, the sword and jewel for wisdom and sacred vows.
