December Palette
December is a busy month, aka a whirlwind of sparkles, plaid, lights and all things holiday themed. It’s a festive time and I wanted to capture the staple colours of the season—the ones you see when you walk into a festive living room that get you into the holiday spirit. This months colours are inspired by festive foods and decorations that surround us during this time of year. The colours are dark but rich which is also a reflection of this time of year. Wishing everyone a merry holidays ☺️
November Palette
Winter hit us hard this year in Canada. In the first week we got hit with a huge snow storm and haven’t seen any leaves or grass since. The November colour scheme feels jarring as we experience the initial shock of cold before the warmness of the holiday season rolls in. November’s colours feel stark and bone chilling giving vibes from ‘The Revenant’. But there is also a beauty to winter—the bright blue sky on a clear day, the complete silence when it snows, the sparkle of the frost.
October Palette
October feels equally as comforting as it does creepy. It’s that contrast between eery halloween decorations and the decay of leaves with cozy warm lattes and home cooked meals. It’s a mood. These colours are darker than the previous months. The darker palette reflects the longer nights that come with the change of season and the warmer tones are reminiscent of comfort food and company.
September Palette
A bittersweet feeling as we say goodbye to summer and the cooler fall weather rolls in. The surrounding green starts to fade to brown and the pumpkin spice craze has begun once again. This palette reflects the lingering greens through this seasonal transition and the warmer tones of browns and yellows that make you want to cozy up on the couch with a good book and some tea.
July Palette
July is here! Summer is in full swing. The days are hot, the patios are open and the people are out! It’s a month of fun and sun. The July palette brings a beachy vibe combining the warm tones of pinks and yellows and the cool tones of teal. If this doesn’t make you want to pack a beach bag and head for the waves, I don’t know what will.
June Palette
Happy June everyone! This month feels even more vibrant than May. The air is sweeter, the sun is warmer and the days are longer. There’s something magic in the air! The June palette flaunts the bright blooms and vibrant greens of spring with the warm colour of sunshine as we transition into summer.
May Palette
Blooms!!! Pops of colour. Growing things. Sunshine. Blue skies. In May everything feels fresh and new again and we enjoy a balance of sunshine and a cool breeze. The warm colours of May bring a zing of energy and feel fresh like a crisp citrus fruit while the greens and blues bring a feeling of harmony.
April Palette
Here come the greens and blues. Nature is waking up, things are sprouting and new life is emerging in April. The colours feel fresh and optimistic like the crisp smell after it rains. Although these colours are on the cooler side, the greens and blues get us excited for what’s coming and have an uplifting mood. April showers bring May flowers— happy spring everyone!
