These phonics poems are the perfect way to have your students practice fluency! I love to put these poems in a poetry folder and each week we have a new word family or phonics skill to learn. Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students can read the poems, visualize the poems, and practice nonsense words easily in a phonics center, whole group or small group with the teacher! by queen Teaching Resources, Phonics Apps, Arts Literacy, Alphabet Phonics
Original Pin - Have students write their names on the side of a sheet of paper (first or both first and last). Then have them write one simile that describes them for each letter in their name. Kids can decorate them however they like and the acrostic simile poems can be hung above all student's desks for display. Great way to practice using similes!
