Futuh al-haramayn - Darstellung der heiligen Stätten Der Plan zeigt die heiligen Stätten in Mekka mit der Ka'ba im Zentrum. Anstatt einer perspektivischen Darstellung sind die durch eine Inschrift ausgewiesenen Gebäude in die Fläche umgeklappt, so dass sie teilweise auf der Seite oder dem Kopf stehen. The Futuh al-Haramayn, a guidebook to the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina written by Muhi al-din Lari, instructs Muslim pilgrims on the rituals of the hajj and lists the religious sites they can visit

After Mecca, Medina is the second holiest site in Islam. Medina is known in Arabic as al-Madina al-Munawarra (the Illuminated City). The Prophet built the first mosque at Medina and for Muslims this is the second holiest site in Islam.
