In many countries Carl Barks remains very well known and is often cited as the greatest comic book writer/artist of all time. His timeless 1940s/50s Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge stories are now being collected. The longer adventure stories influenced Spielberg's Indiana Jones movies, the hilarious 10 page satiric Duckburg stories clearly influenced the storytelling in the Simpsons. Fantagraphics will publish 30 of these volumes - the first 12-14 from Barks' 'Golden Age' will be the most essential.
