Cumhurbaşkanı Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 6 Kasım 1937 günü yaptığı Afyonkarahisar ziyareti sırasında Büyük Utku Anıtı'nı incelerken. Atatürk bu anıt hakkında "Büyük utkuyu en iyi anlatan anıt" demiştir.
